I’ve mentioned before that my mom keeps close tabs on my “knit and crochet” Pinterest board, which is a very good thing. Remember the bee ensemble? It finally fits…
She also made this one not long after Oscar was born. It fits now too, just in time for fall.
The pattern is Grow Old With Me by Jenny Wiebe. Aside from some differently spaced stripes (it was unintentional, she tells me) and the gray buttons, it’s the same sweater as my pinned version – I don’t know enough about knitting to get too creative in my yarn selection, so we just went with the exact same stuff, colors and everything.
Babies sure are cute in their mini sweaters. Especially the shawl collar variety.
And one last bumble bee photo.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this installment of sweater show-and-tell, because there’s more knitting in the queue…
Gorgeous knits. So cute.:)
How cute! I especially love the shawl collar! And what a great smile in the last photo 😀
Gorgeous sweaters. Your little boy is precious wearing them. What a blessing to be gifted these!
Oh my gosh, these are to die for! Could they be anymore precious? Keep meaning to knit my little one something, but they grow so fast I worry it won’t fit for long. But looking at these, who cares? 🙂
Awww! He is adorable and the sweaters are just gorgeous! I just had a little boy and I keep seeing these beautiful knitted sweaters for boys. I keep saying I’m going to try and knit one, now I think I will. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂
Oh gosh. So cute! Maybe some day I’ll feel brave enough to try a sweater instead of just hats 😉
Your son is adorable in his grandma knitted sweaters, so precious!
Some serious knitting cuteness here. Makes me want to dig out my needles!
She did a great job on both sweaters.:) I ADORE the bee one…it’s too cute.
Oh these are so precious!! Your mom does beautiful work.
That bumble bee cardi is too much! I’m a knitter, too, working on a few sweaters for my little ones for Christmas. 🙂

Wow! These are truly gorgeous sweaters that make a wannabe knitter a liitle envious! The bee sweater is special and both are of an obvious quality that is nearly impossible to find in store boughts. Congrats!
These are not the “cringe while you open the package because grandma knitted it and you never know what kind of crazy yarn she picked out” knits that i’m used to (RIP grandma, i loved her, but…you just never knew!!). Your mom has an amazing eye and clearly passed it on to you! Beautiful and so special.
I am on Ravelry and have both these sweaters in my favorites! I am going to make the Grow Old With me with Argyle pattern across the chest instead of stripes, it will be for my 8 month old, or maybe my 4 year old. My 8 year old lost a Detroit Tiger Hoodie I knit him for Christmas the year before last and has been begging for another one ever since, maybe I should do a team color stripe one with a small baseball on the front left. Decisions, decisions, I love knitting! momofthirteen on Ravelry
Ha ha Kristin. I remember grandma’s itchy, crazy knits also. These ARE gorgeous. Your mum is super clever and clever you for starting a knitting pinterest board just for her to peruse!,
Your mum is amazing! I can’t steer my mum towards modern patterns, she knits what she has been knitting for years and just gives my ideas a ‘hmph’. I keep showing her nicer yarns too but to no avail. You are so lucky!

can your mom adopt me? please? she has fabulous taste, which apparently runs in your family. 🙂
Both jackets look so adorable on him!
Your (and Oscar) are so lucky – my mother knows how to knit, but somehow has lost interest over the years 😦
