I finally made something for this baby boy. Nothing fancy, but it’s a start.
Just your basic appliquéd onesie – that’s our great state of Oregon cut out of some Joel Dewberry woodgrain. I just did an image search of “Oregon map” and traced it right from the computer screen.
I made some tiny cords to go with it, too.
They’re newborn sized and it’s hard to believe they’ll actually fit a baby…they look like doll pants! I used a pattern I’ve had forever called Bloomers and Britches by Jackie Clark Designs. But if you’re looking for a freebie, Rae’s Basic Newborn Pants pattern looks pretty similar.
I gave them a miniature back pocket with a matching mini Oregon. And an acorn tag.
That’s it for today!
Such an adorable outfit, love the little acorn tag too!
omigosh gail you’re making my little oregonian heart sing. just you wait, dressing a boy will be fun. 🙂
These are really cute – looking forward to seeing more boy clothes from you 🙂
Awww! It’s a cute outfit for baby boy.:)
You are queen of amazing details, Gail! Mini Oregon on pocket, little acorn tag, pants cuff matching onesie Oregon . . . you think of it all:) Love this little outfit and excited for you as you anticipate his arrival:)
Adorable outfit:):)
love the site change (i usually read in google reader so i might have missed it!) and love your state onesie.
those tags are adorable as well. happy sewing this week!
Cute as usual! Love the Oregon appliqué- the wood grain was a perfect choice.
Gail you’re so cool! This is awesome. I can tell you I will *not* be doing this with our current state – Texas. Texans are already a little too crazy about being Texan. Definitely not going to feed into that! 🙂
This is the cutest. Can’t wait to see it on the little guy.
super cute idea, love the matching pants. yay for oregon.
okay, I am officially in love with you. Was that too forward? 🙂 I just “met” you today through some lovely trail of fate through pinterest and my lovely sisters pinning your cute kiddo clothes and it’s true love. I just surfed back a year or more through your blog. It’s adorable! You do what I wish I would do. You sew and then sew some more and then sew some more. Your kiddos need clothes? You sew them. I love it. Cute skirts, jammies, coats, amazing! Okay, that’s all. Just thoroughly and intensely enjoyed perusing your beautifully sewn projects. Thanks for the inspiration, and a bit of a push to sew more myself…. 🙂
Aww, super cute! Love the little touches, like the Oregon on the pocket and the acorn tag.
Awww, can’t wait to see these on your lil one. Adorbs!
Love it!! GAH! The outline of Oregon is too cute! You know, I was born in Salem, OR. But I grew up in California. Don’t worry, I don’t have any immediate plans to move to your state and jack up home prices, I’m too busy being underwater on my place down here. 😉
I just made Maggie a pair of Big Butt Baby Pants with orange Dewberry wood grain on the butt. I love that fabric sooooooo much. It’s just so tongue in cheek mid-century modern.
Do you sell any of the items you sew at local Portland baby shops or have an Etsy account? I would love to purchase many of the items you feature on your blog. Great inspiration.
