You wouldn’t know it from the weather around here, but it’s spring, and that means the next installment of Elsie Marley‘s Kids Clothes Week Challenge!
The challenge is to make time to sew kids clothes for an hour a day, every day for a whole week. I had lots of fun participating last fall and may even have put in a little overtime. Here’s what I made during fall KCWC:
paper airplanes * lazy days skirt * brooke dress * school days coat * simple skirt
I must admit, the coat is really the only thing that gets any wear. But I did spend the majority of the week on it, so that’s fine by me.
I’m hoping to get some spring basics sewn for Lila this time, since she’s outgrown everything from last spring. I have a small stack of patterns traced and cut out – all Oliver + S so far, and somehow everything is blue (including my pin cushion and scissors, apparently). I don’t want to get too ambitious, but there are a couple other patterns I’d love to squeeze in if I have the time.
Anyway, can’t wait to see what everyone’s sewing next week. Sifting through the Elsie Marley flickr pool is half the fun!
I am so excited for KCWC. I have my pile started and right now it is lots of blues, greens and whites. Love the Pilgrim butterfly fabric and can’t wait to see what it will be!
Ahhhh…when you put your work up in a row like that it’s so beautiful – you pick the greatest, most soothing colors! Blue is my fave. π Happy sewing!!
Wow, I envy your organization! Just look at those patterns all cut out and pinned and waiting to become the next cute item of clothing. Can’t wait to see them – I get so much inspiration from your work!
oh fun! looks like you’ve got a great start. π My girls sometimes one wear something I make them once, it’s so sad sometimes. Although Natalie is wearing her flashback tee to school today!
Ahh, you and Kristin are on top of your GAME! I’m washing my fabric now, hopefully I can get it all ready before the week starts! I love all your creations and you create the most gorgeous palettes. Blue is my fav too! Can’t wait to see what do next week!
Those fabrics look lovely, I like the palette. Wow you sure got a lot done last time, hope it’s another productive week for you. See you on the other side!!
Your pile is inspiring . . . as I’m sure your completed projects will be. I find myself picking up the blues/greens/grays almost every time too . . . so finally I figured, “Why fight it?” Just bought some blue linen today!
Eager to see what that pile of O & S patterns turns out to be!
Wow, I just looked through what I think will be my project fabrics for next week and they are all GRAY. I love me some gray, but how’s that for a kid’s spring wardrobe!? Eek. -Cherie
This is a great idea, as making time is the biggest challenge… I love your blog! Thanks for posting your amazing photos of the projects you complete, they really do inspire one to sew!
oh so organized. i’m gonna fly by the seat of my pants as usual. can’t wait to see what you come up with.
